my sunfire has multiple problems.. the most annoying is the frequent power surges... the air conditioning and lights and radio all restart as if i have restarted the car ...it does it alot when i press the brakes.. or if i have the music up loud, the radio will restart over and over untill i turn it down then its fine!! it drives me crazy!! also the lights wont work.. i have to use my brights whne driving at night.also the 1 and 2 setting on the AC do not work. does anyone know what could be the cause of these problems??

You need to get a look at your battery connections. I suspect that they are corroded or damaged in some way. Your Gm uses a set of "Fuse link wires" that come from the starter motors solenoid contact. Look at/test these or have someone look here for a poor connection.

Turn on the radio with the key in the on position/engine off and move the battery cables & fuse links by hand while listening for the radio disconnect. If this does not find it you are going to need a service technician to trouble shoot it for you.

Good luck!

The blower motor resistor is bad. It is located above the heater motor. You have to drop the blower motor to access it.
