...name? Why is Pontiac (GM) getting rid of the Grand Prix name for the G8. It would have made more sense for them to say the Grand Prix got another make over, instead of cutting it off all together.
If poor auto sales are the excuse, it's not the Prix's fault, its been selling just fine for the last 40+ years with the same name.
So by mid 2008, Pontiac will be selling the G5, the G6, and the G8 (all very different models with similar names. Didn't Ford and Mercury try this (Naming all their cars with F's or M's) which failed miserably since nobody could remember all of them, or mixed them up?
And I know the new G8's are based off of Australian designs (as was the recent GTO), but they won't be imports, right?
Any other Grand Prix fans not happy about this. The G8 is a good looking car, though it could have been better with the Grand Prix name on it.
