windsheild wiper help.89 firebird?

I have a 89 firebird. The windsheild wiper motor rotates but the windsheild wipers barely move. They will move a little bit theb go back down. The repeat the process all over again. What could be wrong??? Could one of them slipped off the bar or whatever

Sounds like a stripped shaft on the output drive for the wiper arms or a loose mounting nut on the shaft..
I would start by checking the shaft at the motor where it connects to the arms under the cowl..
