Windshield Wiper fluid sensor

My daughter has a 1999 Grand Am SE that has her Winshield Wiper fluid sensor always illuminated on her panel. The bottle that holds the fluid has been leaking for many years and is expensive to get a new one. Is there a way to disable whatever sensor lights up the panel light?

the sensor is on the bottle, have you tried disconnecting it?

Melsg5: Thanks for your reply. Seems to me if the fluid is low which activates the sensor, would be the same thing if you remove sensor because the fluid is not being sense. Doesn't it need a signal to tell the computer that the bottle is full and what would the signal be or how can I simulate that signal. No signal would, I guess, signal the light ON as oppose to removing the signal, which would then be removing the sensor and the problem would still exist. BTW, I can't see where that sensor would be. I could simulate that signal to switch off the light, if I knew what that would be.

Either unplugging the sensor or jumpering the plug should make the light go out.

Have you tried a salvage yard for a different bottle.

Yes, I did try some local junk yards here, but the bottles were in worst shape than my daughter's bottle on her car. Even though she is use to the light being ON while driving, it's an annoyance to me especially when the chime rings to let you know of the fact. BTW Zmingxp, thanks for your reply. I'm still going to look into what signal conditioning is required to switch OFF that lamp.
