Trying to help my father out with a project car he picked up a couple months ago. We've got a great solid platform to start with... not a spot of rust on the frame or floors. But the previous owner started to restore it and we're finding he did A LOT of hacking and jury-rigging, that we're having to go back and fix the right way.

The biggest issue is the wiring. No idea what happened... they had a 455 in it that spun a bearing. We just dropped a 326 in it. Got it running by hotwiring it. But the wiring harness in the car is absolutely destroyed. Just about every wire is cut, spliced in with other wires, junctions, dead-ending live wires, connectors cut off, etc. And 90% of the wires are red... doesn't make matters easier.

When money allows we'll be ordering a new engine harness, but for now it would be nice to get the car running off the ignition switch, charging, and drive-able. Can anyone help out with giving us a start on where the wires go?

Try www.amesperf.com and get a copy of the factory Chasis Service Manual which includes all the wiring diagrams not to mention everything else you will need to know.

We've ordered some parts through Ames already. It's too bad they don't have a walk-in store. They're only about an hour down the road from me, and I'm out that way all the time. Could be a great resource.
