Alright, the other night I turned my car off (after it was running fine) to do a quick errand. I went to leave and it wouldnt start. This is not the first time. A year ago something with the ignition area was replaced. When I turn the key, the car makes a quick "click" sound and that is it. The key got stuck. Because I had this problem a yr ago, I knew if we "jumped" the car, the key would come out. The key fob doesnt work. The radio doesnt work, the lights are very dim...NOTHING works. 2 days later we tried to start again with no luck but key stuck again. The next day we "jumped" it to get the keys. All of a sudden, the car started. I drove it for about 40 minutes but when i started it, it made the sound a car make when you try to start a car that is already running, but only made the sound for about half a second. It sounded like it did not want to start. The next day, i tried starting it before I left for work to let my husband hear the sound it was making the day before and it started no problem. HEEEELP...im afraid to drive anywhere when I have to turn off. Oh, and yesterday i had to recalibrate the direction which is appears in the info center. Whatever i had replaced last yr, completely zero'd everything out. In fact, when i got my car back, the language was in chinese or something.

Every post ive read on here states that the radio and lights and everything works except the car wont start. This is not the case and it is NOT the battery.

Also, last year before this happened, my car would accelerate all on its one and the temp gauge would nearly rise to the red zone. It also would rev into the 3000 and 4000 when in park but go back down in drive. After the ignition some (sorry cant remember part) was replaced, all these problems stopped.

Please, any advice would be wonderful. This beast has cost me thousands and i really would like to fix w/o taking to another mechanic.

is the check engine light on? Check the battery connections both at the battery and at the starter and the ground to the chasis. How old is the battery?

Is the check engine light on? How did you determine the battery was fine? You checked if the connection at the starter solenoid was tight?

The check engine light go on and off. It was on about 8 months ago and went off after a few days. About a month and a half ago, it came back on and stayed on again for a few days. Has not been on since.
All connections tight...had it checked again today.
Could it be the solenoid itself?

Yes, you could have a bad solenoid or ignition switch. You have to have the check engine light coded, autozone and other parts stores do it for free.
