is this thing even worth anything? if so how much?

thanks for the help

Got any pictures, block codes and cylinder head casting numbers to confirm that it is actually Ram Air III and IV parts.

theres the intake castings number

block casting number just in case you cant read it its 9799914

what pics do i need to take of the heads? plus all the ports on the heads are round

Two thing to look for on the block. The first is the date code which is back by the distributor. It should read something like E270. The first letter tells the month. The second two numbers tell the day of the month and the last number the year. The example I just gave you would stand for May 27, 1970.

Then you need to look on the front passenger side of the block right below where the cylinder head attaches. There will be a machined pad there with some letters and numbers that are stamped there. There will be a two letter code there. If it is indeed a Ram Air III block the code should be either a WS or YZ.

As for the heads a picture from the top view would help. Ram Air IV heads will have either a 722 or 614 cast into them somewhere above the exhaust ports.

The casting number that is on the intake indicates that it is a 1970 intake that was on all 4 BBL engines with the exception of the Ram Air IV engine with had it's own specific intake.

theres some more pics i couldnt really find a casting number on the heads, im prolly looking in the wrong place

thanks again for your help

Sorry to say but those aren't Ra Air IV heads.:( You see where the two center exhaust ports are? And right on top you can see the number 13? That indicates that they are the large valve head with screw in studs. They are a good performance head for a Pontiac and are worth some money but not as much as the Ram Air IV stuff. These would be correct heads for a 70 GTO with that wasn't a Ram Air engine.

Now for the block code. It is on the PASSENGER side and right below the cylinder head on the front of the block. Also it is stamped into the block not cast into it. You see the numbers on the intake on the one picture and see how they are raised up? That is a cast in number that was cast into the part when it was made. The number or actually letters you are looking for will be stamped into the block which was done after the block was cast.

YS indicates that it was your base 1970 GTO 400 motor with an automatic transmission. Depending on what source you read it was rated at 350 or 360 HP. What's your plans with it?

it was in my jeep until it blew up then i rebuilt it bored in .030 over put all new everything in it and right now its just sitting in the jeep inthe garage i just havent had time to finsh the new jeep up yet... so what is this motor worth? 1000?

If you have receipts to document the parts and work done to it, I would think you should be able to get somewhere near that price.
