Firebird or Camaro? Specifically the 4th generation Firebirds and Camaros. What can be added to make the engine go faster? Would it be cheaper to get a V8 instead of a V6?

there is a lot of performance upgrades for the 3.8 GM engine. Exhauste, chips, headers, intakes, turbo/superchargers, gears, the list is endless... THat is actually a great engine to mod and surprize the unsuspecting V8's...

It depends on how far you want to go and which V/6 you have ..
the Buick based 3800s have some hop up parts available but they aren't cheep and at the end of the day it's still a V/6 the other V/6s don't have any real Hop up parts , I would say if you have a pretty decent car now trade up to a V/8 car if you want performance the Sixs aren't worth the time or money
unless you have Deep pockets ...
