Hi, Tx. Manual says remove the fender. Some say the far left bolt is the culprit and most just leave it out for reassembly. So why not just cut it loose & leave the inner fender as is?I've done it for a 72 Lemans (A body) with Factory air. It doesn't take long. I jacked up and removed the passenger front tire. Then I unbolted the fender liner and let it drop out of the way to access the blower motor. I wore leather work gloves to move the fender liner to avoid cutting my hands. You might have to replace some of the u nut clips for the fender liner if they break before re-installing the liner.
Ok Gang. It's all good knowledge. It'll be a while before I can get to it up in my son in laws shop. I'll post a report when done. Tx, JohnI second what Kraig1957 said, remove the wheel, and unbolt the inner fender, no need to remove the actual fender. Lining the fender back up after removing it is not worth the slightly more access it will give you. It's not a hard job just takes some time. It can get fustrating as some bolts are removed from the inside, and some from under the hood. Just take your time plan on 10-12 hours total the 1t time you do it. probably won't take that long if you have any mechanical ability.
