This is an interesting one. I, along with many others, am having trouble with the heat in my Torrent. At all engine speeds, I get heat if the fan speed is 50% or less. From 50% to 100% the heat starts to blow cool, regardless of RPM (assuming the engine is fully warmed up). I've had many problems with this car overheating in the past, which has led to many many repairs and replacements. I will say that the car never overheats or does anything weird temperature-wise, whether I'm idling or driving. The ONLY symptom is no heat above 50% fan speed. Additionally, I know for a fact I'm not leaking or losing coolant, I've kept an eye on the revervoir tank for the last 2 weeks or so.

This has been an on going problem, and throughout this process I've made the following repairs:

water pump replacement
thermostat replacement
head gasket replacement
flushed heater core
burped/purged lines multiple times

I'm not sure what the problem is anymore. I'm suspecting the heater core needs another flush, but after having done that only a year ago that's hard to believe. I'm also suspecting the blend door or the thermostat. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Rent a IR gun and measure the temperature of the inlet and outlet pipes going to the heater core.
Are you using a 195 thermostat?

Some time within the next week I'll be sure to check the inlet and outlet temps. And the thermostat was replaced close to a year ago, but if I remember correctly it was a 195 thermostat.

Your hot and cold is stuck open not closing all the way that's what my was
