The switch for the top won't work. I think I have the incorrect positive battery cable. I only have a single wire to the starter. There is a wire from the starter to the junction box where I believe the second battery cable wire is supposed to go. Won't this still work as long as the starter is engaged? Or must it be a direct connection from batter to junction box. Also can the junction box go bad? I want to make sure I chase all the problems in ord

What year is the car?

The car should have one large and one small wire on the positive cable. The correct cable is M355G from Ames Performance. The junction box should be easy to check with an ohmmeter or voltmeter.

I guess you could but dont see how you are going to get a solid connection at the battery

Could I use the pigtails off my positive cable?
Major spark when I touch those two together though so I don't thing so?

Also I already ordered this cable? Does it look like the right thing?

Also can anyone tell me how many wires should be connected to my junction box. Currently I have three. One to the switch in the interior of the car I think, One which is a ground to a post on the top of the engine block and a third which I believe is the one that comes from my battery cable. Does that sound right?

The first post in this thread makes no mention of pigtails. I have no idea what kind of cable you currently have.

After much experimentation it all works fine now. I have a hot wire from battery to junction box which gives power to convertible top switch. Now I just need to rewire the switch into the harness because I assumed the switch was bad and cut it out. Always another project. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated!

Good to hear you fixed it
