Hello everybody, I'm new to this site, I recently purchased the car I dove in high school (35 years ago), a 1971 Pontiac LeMans Sport. The car has sat for many years and the trunk has rusted terribly; you can see through to the ground. Basically my question is: How much rust is too much? I know there are trunk floor pan kits that would probably work but I'm wondering if this is just to much of a project to be worth it. The car has much sentimental value to me and I would like to make it look nice again. What do you guys think? Thanks

I would contact a body shop that does restoration for an estimate so you can make a decision

I bought mine with that same problem but I’m 17 lol so I’m hopeful. My plan was to buy a trunk kit and hopefully find good metal to weld it to. Don’t give up on a car with that sentimental value!!
