More questions about security and starting Grand Am 2004

This link shows only two wires, so no idea about the green wire.

The post on the other side of the solenoid is empty, did it have a wire on it?
Did you mix up the two small wires and fail to connect the green one?
there is only 1 spot well 2 but you can't hook it to the ground and i clearly remember it coming off the top post along with the other wire(main hot wire)and i just got off phone with the guy that helps me when i go there and i thought this but didn't know for sure but that old starter only had 3 post on it!!!!!!!! And here is a pic of it.. with that being said the one i haver now can not hook up without a DIODE line connection from the GM video i watched. The one i got now is actually just like the one GM uses in its video with the 4 post, and also its supposedly the original GM starter...No matter how I tried to connect those wires no way worked so i went back to the original way to hook up and i can not hook negative cable end to battery without starter engaging...

You do realize that video is showing a 1960's ignition coil? They even mention points style ignition.
This is NAPA starter, the picture looks different than your solenoid, only one post.

Yes. The guy doing commentary states from 1960- up....An original starter is what Advanced Auto gave me. Once I tried connecting that Link wire to each post, I finally realized that the old one that came out only had 3 connector posts on it> the 12v being the bigger, with the Green link wire also with it, and of course the smaller one for the "S" terminal. That video is what made me realize what the Green wire was and where it connected. With that being said, I removed the starter and took to Advanced where they tested it and it failed first for the "R" terminal then just failed all together....They didn't have the other in stock so I got to go to the next town over in the morning and pick one up. If its not the 3 post starter, then I don't want it!!!

That looks much better
all of this mental strain due to employee incompetence, smdh.......I should've known it wasn't right when I first installed, but I let this weather stress me, and I'm sure others as well. I'm still scratching my head though over just the starter suddenly Cranking over! I didn't change anything other than the Starter itself! LOL....I guess it is what it is, however, the right one still isn't installed and running just yet. Thank you man and I will update asap tomorrow, thanks again...

Het there man!!! Well after fighting with Advanced Auto half a day plus W/Pay Pal.......Yes, its been one crazy day for sure, BUT, in the end f$%k it, car started up with actual the right starter on it with no problems whatsoever! Especially since the car has sat for over a week in this cold, but started with no hesitation....WOOOOOHOOOOOOO......Thank you very much for your assistance man!!!

PS.......if anyone has side post battery and the bolts that screw into the terminal happens to ware a little (threads) use a nut and tighten the terminal bolt down it a couple times and will make threads like new......

Good to hear you got it started
