1970 Catalina Radio Installation

Greetings Pontiac Enthusiasts,
I own a 1970 Catalina convertible. I finally took out the cheesy after-market replacement radio and found an original Delco AM radio. The bracket is installed, but I can't figure out an easy way to install the radio to the bracket. 1) The heater duct is in the way coming from behind. 2) I can't seem to figure out how to get the front dash plate loose enough (screws are removed) to install the radio from the front. I sure don't want to crack anything. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

Any help is appreciated. I called Franks Pontiac and several other places with no luck. I spent two hours searching ebay.

I always take off the glove box door, remove the glove box and gain access to the radio and mounting hardware from the side.

I also have a 1970 Catalina Convertible with the original AM radio installed. The radio will definitely enter from behind the dash. I am having trouble connecting my phone to show pictures. I have to work today so hopefully I can post them later today. Manual says AC duct must be removed (if AC). I would love to get a picture of where your engine coolant reservoir is and what it looks like. There aren't many of these drop tops.
