1991 3.1 trans fluid dipstick tube

Hi everyone, just bought a 1991 sunbird and when I checked the trans fluid the whole dipstick tube came out. Is it held in by a bolt or some sort of O-Ring.

You don't see anything along the length of the tube indicating a support bracket broke off? There has to be a seal of some kind where the tube attaches to the transmission.

Ok thanks, and would that be an O-Ring? And I’ll check tomorrow as it’s dark out now

I will take a look tomorrow but, as for the seal is it an ORing or a specific seal like a multi-lip?

Bolt holds it on, must of fallen out or mounting bracket may be broken....
