People,

I get water intrusion from rain, on passenger side, at base/foot area, coming from the rusted out drain tube that drains the cowl. Right at the base of the rubberish black tube. Any remedy?
ALSO, DRIVERS SIDE, all over, difficult to determine, I have tarred the area for years, with limited success. Shop manual shows how to find aleak area with compressed air/soap bubbles, but my compressor is not that powerful. Anyone else here experiencing this? I fear my car will rust out before the engine quits.

Good to know, Doug. I thought I was the only one. I am constantly trying to dry out the smelly moldy carpet in the cab. Sheesh.

Mine flakes off rust inside all the time...... hopefully it will be going to junkyard beginning of next year...just the minimum maintenance till then...🤷

Say it isnt so, Doug! Time for the junk yard?? Nothing lasts forever. Curious- have you cut out/ripped out your yucky carpet yet because of the constant wet floor/moldy smell? My carpet is so beat up. Maybe I should cut it out? At least when the water drains in it will dry quicker, right?

Will get to hot inside if you take out the carpet, take it out, wash it , air dry it, and coat the floor with something ( bed liner, heavy duty brush on primer , etc) Took out the padding on mine, primed the floor with industrial primer , put some old rubber mats on the front floor, and put the carpet back in..never smells....

As for mine....my last retirement payments start in December, time to buy a used SUV for the wife.. ( Sunbird is in her name) it will be time for the junkyard or cheap car for some one... Last oil change is due, passenger wheel hub, tensioner pulley , and a little paint touch up will be probably the last maintenance I do on it ...( Still have to drive it for a while more)
