New to this group. We have a 1966 Tempest Custom that needs some love, but it is running. It appears that the carburetor has been replaced and we are wondering what the original carb would have been. This is a 326 ci V8, the HO 280 horsepower engine with a 2-speed powerglide transmission.

Any help would be appreciated.

If it really is a HO it came with a Carter AFB which is what Edelbock is currently remarketing as their 1400 series.

That’s a rare powertain. Only 2206 326 HO automatics produced in 1966 according to PHS. I have one of 3047 HO 4 speeds, currently for sale.
