I bought the car without remote keyless entry and bought a remote on Ebay that should work I just don't know the procedure for programming it and don't want to pay GM to do it.
I need to know how to program remote keyless entry on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am.?

That car needs computerized equipment put on the car to program the remotes. Local locksmiths can also program them, usually for less than the dealer. Besides saving some money, they can do it in only a few minutes.

Some of the cars can be programmed by hand...
but does your car have keyless remote ?
just having the remote will not make it work if it's not equipped with the reciever , Not all models were made with keyless remote check your option sheet to be sure and if it has it the dealer should be able to tell you if it can be programmed and how to do it yourself
it's just good dealer relations if they don't look for another dealer in your area..

I have an 05 and need to replace the remote. I have looked at gmpartsdirect and see they offer a fob with remote start and also a module for the remote start. Is this an addional receiver that plugs in somewhere and makes this plug and play?
