Slippery When Wet

I am truly obsessed with this car. I have it on my mind day and night, at work, and even in the restroom. I want to purchase one. Can anyone give me any details on the good and bad features of this Pontiac? Any owners who would like to comment about it? Another question I have is how much will this car add to my insurance? I am 19 yrs old, male, and this will be my first ride. Thanks!

I worked at a Pontiac dealer for about 9 years. These cars are horrible. Every system on that car had a recall of some sort. To change a clutch you have to remove the engine as well through the bottom. Horrible horrible cars.

Dont listen to this man.

I bought a Fiero 4cyl auto for my first car. I took that thing to hell and back and it stayed running up until the very end.

Truely reliable. Was an 86.

Liked it so much infact i went out and bought an 87 manual v6 for my second.

The fieros are definately difficult to work on, and shops hate to do it. Mostly people do theyre own work, so be prepared for that. To replace a clutch the engine and trannys gotta come out.

Definately crappy engineering. But a great, fun little car.

And stylish.. I love 'em. You will too.

Every transverse mounted engine/trans assembly needs the cradle lowered to change a clutch. This includes Fiero's and every FWD vehicle on the road.
You don't have to "remove the engine" Just remove the rear cradle bolts and swing down the cradle to clear the transaxle bell housing to change a clutch.

Every system had a recall??? There were only 2 recalls on a Fiero.

You probably worked as a porter at the dealership because you haven't got a clue about working on a Fiero's.
