2000 Grand Am 2.4L cranks but won't start. It has good spark and injector pulse. the fuel pressure seems good and it won't start with starting fluid either. It sounds ok when it cranks over and it has 180 Psi compression in each cylinder. The security light is not on and that system seems to be operating properly. There is a strong gas smell at the tailpipe so I suspect either the ECM is not controling the injector pulse properly or that the timing chain is somehow off, but I don't see how to check either one of those problems. Any help with a timing chain check or ECM test?????

2000 GA SE 80K clicks. I've had similer problems but not the same as yours. One day working fine the next day wouldn't start. After trying 6 0r 7 times it finally started. Got home and went to use it next day and no power, nothing, no head lights, interiors nothing. It's been maintained as usual but I'm at a loss. I was told it may be a fly wheel on the starter and was told to put it in neutral, coast backwards 4 or 5 feet then slam it in park. Didn't work. I was stuck in the middle of the road blocking traffic. Pissing me off. If it is the starter shoultn't you still get lights etc... when you tun the key position to ACC?

Ok I took cover off timing chain and it is aligned properly. I checked that because the ECM company said it sounded more like timing chain problem. Any ideas out there??????

Sounds like a blown fusible link wire on yours...see it often on GM cars but usually you will have some systems working if nothing is working check battery or connections.
