I was driving home from work when my car surged twice and then cut off! Lucky I was on the off ramp and coasted to the mediun. When I came to a stop I opened up the hood and could here something leaking.

So looked under the car and saw oil. Looks like it actually came up thru the tube where you check the oil! I walked to the store and got some oil and poured it in and didn't see any leaking.

What happened??? I tried to start it and the engine will turn but it won't start. Any ideas???

Thanx In Advanced :)

Fuel pump or ignition system failure, lots of possibilities ,would need more information

You might have too much oil in the Crankcase as it rarely leaks with the Engine off unless there are severely worn Gaskets but then the pressure would not be as it appears.
May possibly indicate restrictions in the Crankcase ventilation ports causing such backpressure.
That's excessive backpressure and will obviously negate engine operation.
--Replace PCV and as well check any other vent Tube of the Crankcase for clogs/obstructions--
Checking for Trouble Codes is a definite PLUS!

I once had a 80s something Datsun-Nissan conversion with a z22e Engine and removing the oil fill cap while the engine was running KILLED the engine, so apparently it needed a lot of internal pressure.

Is there a PCV valve in a 2000 2.2? I don't see one..

I put on code reader and it says 0 codes. I sprayed starting fluid in the intake and car went varoom for couple of secs then died.

hook up the gauge and turn the key on to the run position so all your dash indicators come on, this activates the fuel pump and you get a reading
