i just got a 2001 t/a, and i was wondering if anybody can give me some advice and prices on some performance parts for my car?? so far right now it is all stock but just wondering if anybody could help me out???

New throttle body, Hypertech chip 200$ ( good one ) , Headers, 250$ exhaust,100$ air intake kit,150$ pulley system, 800$ all prices depend on where you go to get them, but I think thats a safe estimate.

Exhaust is prolly the first mod you should do. No need to put more air in if it has no where to go. Stay away from the Hypertech if you can. If you can find it, custon tuning will get you more power. It will be a little more than a plug in tune. Dyno time is best.

hypertech is by FAR the easiest way to get another 25-30 H.P, plus if you have an auto, change shift points, more fuel milege, and if your governed, it will remove it. You can tune your speedo to the size of tires. ETC. And a cold air kit is always better, that guy dont know what hes talkin about, COLD air is BETTER than HOT air!!!!!!

A cold air intake is definitly one of the best power making upgades you can do. The exhaust would be another good thing but I believe your car should have at least a 2-1/2" exhaust and unless you are making over 450 horse there is no need to go bigger. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Your t/a is a 2001? Therefor it isnt an lt1.. You have an ls1.. So u should just get these 4 things.... Slp true dual exhaust w/ headers.. 800.. Ws6 hood 700. Ram air pkg 300.. And When u get enough money a supercharger.. U can run 12 psi stock on that motor no problem.. It'll cost about 2 g.. but u can get one cheaper if u live in nj u can go to swap meat at the medowlands n pick one up for a couple hundred.. n if u wanna get nasty.. Pick up a set of bf goodrich g force tires...

I guess I missed the part about hot air being better. Exhaust and a cold air setup would be the first things I would do.

I like transamwhips Ideas, That sounds good to me, youll be pulling away from those p$%#y ass SVT mustangs all day long with that setup. Go with a set of Dynomax mufflers, they flow better than the other "name" brands, and have a nice rumble instead of a "raspy" sound.

Hmmm... Sarcasm? Well Yes cold air would be better.. But then again.. I can just go get myself a honda civic n do that.. he has a TRANS AM not HONDA SHITIC.. Ram air Is ment for the muscle cars.. Cold air intake for those ricers.. U wanna go for cold air then do it.. But I'll stick w/ my Ws6 hood w/ my intake pkg Wich gives me All the power i need.. o n i forgot.. If it has a stock shifter take that out n pick up a Hurst.. Dont go t throw go pro

heres a site w/ all the parts u'll need

Alot of people have had trouble with F body motorsports. Not shipping parts, not returning calls etc. I have dealt with them, and I wasn't impressed. They are trying to fix the problem so maybe it is better. An LS1 based forum could give you some good information. TPIS also is a good resource, but some people think they are a little spendy.

Another cost affective way to shave time is gears. I have 4:10s and when driven right on good tires I can hook it up and it makes the f bodies run pretty good. Headers and exhaust will help to.
