My wife has a 2002 Sunfire that is acting up. For about two months the AC would blow, you hit a bump, fan stopped. You keep driving and hit another bump and the fan starts back up. Through the month though the power has become weaker and weaker. The blower will only work in high and has done so for the last 6 months. Couple days ago the fan stopped completely no matter how many bumps you hit. Is this the blower motor/resistor/wiring. Im confused. Someone please help me. Also how do you take out the glove compartment to gain access to the blower components?

It sounds like the blower resistor has completely burnt out. Cannt answer the glove box question, you dont see any screws holding it in?

there are a few screws but since its the wife's car don't want to tear apart the whole dash. I think I know which ones but was hoping to find out from someone that had donr it. As for the resistor I was hopeing and thinking it was that especially since it the cheapest and least intrusive fix. I think Im going to try that route. Ill update when complete.

the resistor board is one of the hardest to replace and requires patience to change. It is possible to do without removing the glove box. I have had to change the motors out, but you do need to remove the motor to change the resistor board out. take your time and it can be done. Not an easy repair to do but requires patience and time to replace. best of luck to you!
cheers

Did you get this fixed?

I actually went through the same issue just recently with my heat in my car.. I would hit bumps and the blower would go off and on, slow down, sound like a helicopter.. and then finally quit. I spent $80 on a new blower motor and it works perfect now..
