just woundering about how many kms you getting on a tank of gas got a 2007 pontica torrent just put new plugs and wires in the suv my torrent is all wheel drive i do a lot of highway driving getting around 410 to 450 kms on a tank is that about right

I am keeping record of my 2006 AWD Torrent mpg for last 3 years using "mileage" app in my android phone.
The average is 17.3 mpg.
The high record is about 25 mpg.
The low record is about 12.5 mpg.
In general if all my driving is within the city (I live in NYC) then it is about 15mpg.
Highway mileage usually in the range from 19 to 21 mpg. The high record was achieved when I drove full tank at cruise control set to 65mph on empty highway.
When my wife drives the car then mpg increases by 1-2.
Most of times I fill gasoline at: Shell, Mobil/Exxon and Costco gas stations. I always fill full tank and zero the trip odometer for the record.
The car has around 70k, new spark plugs and replaced air filter every 15k. Also I use chevron fuel injector cleaner at the time of oil change.

I get about the same amount of kms per tank as curveball with my '06 Torrent AWD. Thats a mix of city & hwy.

Fuel economy improvement.

I have very interesting observation:
I have changed tires already two times.
When I replaced stock tires at 45K with Falken Ziex ZE-912 my fuel economy has dropped. About 0.5 mpg in mix driving. It was very little and I did not related that time to tires.
Now at 70K I have installed Goodyear Assurance CS Fuel Max. I did not do anything else. Now I see 1.5-2mpg better in mix driving. I have never imagine that just tire type can do really significant improvement.
Now I have mix driving fuel economy around 18.5-19mpg.
However, I need to admit that car handling became worse a little bit.
P.S.
I always check tire pressure at 35psi as recommended and check it not less then twice a month. As I know 3psi drop from recommended pressure would equivalent to 3% drop in fuel economy.

Well, I've had my 2007 Torrent since February and get much better fuel economy, but its 2WD. It has just over 140k and to my knowledge has original plugs/wires, etc. I have at best in the warm weather 760km to the tank (72 litre tank if I'm remember correctly:confused:) and a shade under 680km in the cold. I drive about 80% highway between 80-120 kph. It may be the tires (winters/summers) but thats just a guess and doubt that 4WD would make that much of a difference. I drive pretty easy and don't stomp on her at the lights. I use primarily Petro Canada / Shell gas at the 'cheapest' octane.

Good Luck!!

gm had a recall on the plugs and wires i got that done my torrent is a pig on gas i put new air filter in i do a lot of highway driving still get 450 kms on a tank the said it awd if i'm right awd come on when the cumputer tell it to come on i going to try a gas filter in a week or so see if that workes i going on vacation in the next few month it takes 21 hour to get there i see if see good on long drives check tires at 35 psi getting 11\liter per 100 kms so it say on the torrent in the menu
