Well one day im going to want to drop in another motor and im wondering how much bigger I can go engine wise without having to adjust the engine mounts and stuff.

And if I have to use another 2.2liter, 4 cylinder engine what can I modify on it to make it "Bad Ass" for lack of better words...lol

This is just pure curiosity at the moment.

Thanks for any feedback.

since the 2.2 is a roller motor. i would just be sure the bottom end is right and tight and then bolt on a turbo as well as a three inch exhaust. bore a little on the cylinders , port the head, larger injectors and throttle body.

or drop in a 2.4L and do all of the above mods

I think im just going to buy another 2.2L engine soon and rebuild it over the summer. I think it would be a great experience for me. Im a welder/fitter so following instruction and figuring shit out as I go is what I do. Never worked on cars much and really regret that. Man I should have become a mechanic instead of a welder...lol

So I assume I can have the cylinders bored out and use larger pistons for more HP correct?

Wow this is going to be a great learning experience:)

Really glad I found this site.

boring should really be at a minimal . it will give more cubes but. leave enough meat for the next rebuild. its the head that will increase your ponies. as well as forced air i.e turbo. im a retired pipeline welder you got any 7018 cronotrons i can get? or at least 6010s?:D
