I have a 2001 Pontiac Montana and i think the computer is bad. I just recently got a computer out of a 2001 Chevy Venture and tried to install it but the montana wouldn't even try to crank.

Does the computer need to be reflashed or do i have one that wont work?

You have to do security relearn first. You will likely also have to have the correct operating system flashed in.

If you have the VIN of both I can look them up and give you some idea.

Ok. Is the Vin# on the computers by chance or do i need to go back to the junkyard and get it off the vehicle?

It is in the PCM (programmed).

Rarely does a computer from a junkyard work without programming. Often it will render things like airbags disabled.

Pretty easy to flash (I do that sort of thing), just need your VIN and I can flash it with your correct program.

I will try the relearn this afternoon. If it doesnt work how would i go about letting you reflash the computer?

I've done this quite a few times, but it always required reprograming the new pcm with the VIN of the car its in, and then relearning the theft control. (dealer)

The relearn worked but I guess I didn't have a bad computer because it didn't fix my sputtering.
