Hey Guys, I'm new to working on cars and I 've been wanting to mess around with my 05 Sunfire. I've been wanting to upgrading the sound system for awhile now and I wanting some opinions. I went by an audio store in town and the salesperson was more a less saying I needed an amplifer and putting a lot of doubt it my head about upgrading them and just being vague about everything I asked. I know the fronts are 4x6 and the rears are 6x9. I was thinking about picking up a set of pioneer speakers and a deck. I'm not looking for something thats going to be mind blowing, I just want a solid upgrade over my stock speakers. Any thoughts? Do pioneer make good speakers? Also, how difficult is it to replace the deck? Thanks!

And as far as I know Pioneer makes decent stuff. And I only think you need an amp if your putting a subwoofer in the car.

you can amp up your wall and door speakers and it will make them sound better. what model do you have Vallum? if you have a GT, you'll have a stock door/wall speaker amp.
and as for the pioneer speakers, I have pioneer speakers all around in my sunfire and they sound sweet. but then again, i have a GT, so i got a stock amp powering my speakers. the deck was simple to install, however, you will wanna go get a mounting kit for it, and also the wiring harness adapter to make the install even easier
