Sunfire with dim headlights, please help!

I just bought a 97 sunfire, and then realized the headlights were extremely dim.
It's hard to see where I'm driving at night, even with the brights on.
It's almost impossible to see through rain and snow let alone fog.
The bulbs were replaced before I bought the car, so what could be the problem?

Anyone having similar problem?

Please help.

I have the same problem. Well almost. Just the left side on my sunfire is dim, havent checked with the brights on tho. Someone told me it could be a bad ground wire to the light, or possible a socket having bad contact. Good luck

there is a wire harness that runs in front of the rad
there is a wire in there that breaks and causes all kinds of problems
usually affect daytime running lights

have u tried cleaning the headlight lenses. they tend to get dirty and u have to clean them. they sell a cleaning kit at wal-mart for 15 bucks
