Ok I bought this sunfire from a buddy. Its been sitting a couple of years and has only 85000 miles on it. I drained the gas tank, Changed fluids, Filters. When I attempted to start it I have to hold gas to floor, then it will start for 10 15 seconds then quit, after numberous attempts I got it to stay running, but wont idle. Have to keep foot on gas and hold at 1500 RPM or more to keep running, when running in this higher RPM its smooth and no miss. Asked buddy and he said that the problem he was having when he decided to park it. He also mentioned that after you shut it off it has to sit for 20 to 30 minutes before it will start again, Changed fuel pump relay, and fuel pump sewems to be running. I did notice that the fuel gage goes from a 1/4 tank and full while i had it running, it would drop back and forth the whole time. Any ideas, where do I start with it? Any help to get me going would be helpful.

Mass air flow sensor or some where your air intake isn't set in place right. I'd check to make sure your air box and all the tubing all the way to the throttle body is tight.
