I have a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire SE 2.2L automatic, my horn hadn't been working. When I press the horn button, all I hear is a clicking sound on the passenger side by the glove box. I went to O'reilly today and bought a universal horn, but first before I open it and install it I wanted to test the relay to make sure it's not bad first. But I don't know where the relay is located. Does anyone know where's it's located on the 96 SE model?

Already checked the fuse box under the hood to see if maybe it was in there but it's not. I saw two other relays on the front of the engine bay, but not sure if either one is the relay or not.

did you try removing the glove box to see what the source of the clicking sound is? It's probably the relay.

Not yet, wasn't sure if it was on that side or somewhere else. I found two websites, one said it was located on the right side of the glove box under the dash and the other website said it was on the driver's side where the pedals are. So, I wanted to know exactly where it is first before I try taking anything apart.

I found the answer to my question.... http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_is_horn_relay_on_1998_pontiac_sunfire

In the answer, he also says that if you hear a clicking sound coming from the relay then that means its still good.

good to know, thanks.

I got the new universal one wired in last night. I couldn't get to the bolt to undo the old one so I left that in there and unplugged it. Bolted the new one in a different location and had to go buy some new wire to extend the factory wire so it could reach to the new location. It's has good sound and a lot better then the factory horn, as was only 10 dollars.
