1996 Sunfire Blower Motor

When I turn on the air in my 1996 Sunfire SE I hear a buzzing noise coming from behind the glove box, I believe it's the blower motor. I don't know anything about it, so is that a sign of the motor going out?

It happens when I turn on just the air, not the A/C. I haven't actually checked yet if it buzzes when I turn on the A/C.

Also, the car is 15 years old and has 163k miles on it.

it could be the motor or something like a leaf got sucked into the system and is making the noise. Does the noise change depending upon the blower speed?

On number 2, it doesn't make any noise. When I put it on 3 then it starts making a noise. I've had it up to number 4 before when I used the heater but I didn't notice any noise.

Should I take it off and see if anything got sucked in?

I guess it depends on how much it bothers you. If it only makes the noise on higher speeds and you dont run it at those speed too often why create more work for yourself.

I had a similar incident on my montana and what I did to fix is removed it and soaked it down with some 3 in 1 oil and reseated it and it works fine ,probably just bought some time

Kind of annoys me but I usually don't hear it much since I play my music really loud, but I always drive and my girlfriend rides in the passenger seat so it annoys her more.

I took the motor off earlier to see if it just needed to be cleaned, there was of course a lot of dust in there and there was some rat poop. From when the car was broken down at my gf's moms house and sat in her lawn for a year and a half.

Cleaned it out then tested it before putting it back in. Now it works fine without any buzzing noise on level 3, but I found out that level 1 and 2 don't even work at all. So now I have to change the blower motor resistor. Which is gonna kind of suck since one of the bolts that holds it in is in the back which is almost impossible to get to without a flexible wrench or flexible ratchet.
