We currently have a 95 trans am firebird, automatic with the 350, and its riding ok, but right now we have an issue that when its first started more like a cold start when you floor it the revs will take you up to 6k revs, but after the 3rd time of flooring it(for testing) the revs start to cut off around 3900revs or 4000revs and feels like its chokeing its self, almost like a rev limiter. and after awhile the engine service soon light comes on right after it does that. just replaced plugs, and new plug wires, pvc valve, and were thinking now that it could be transmission related problem. Let me know what you guys might know on this. i mean we've been digging around in it for some time now, also got a brand new tank and sending unit. just trying to help narrow down the possibility list.(also when it does stall out or we take out the battery and let it reset, it will rev fine and go back to normal for like 20minutes, then the problems starts again about 30mins in.) has to be a sensor of sorts. any input will be grateful . Thanks in advance.

Did you get the code scanned to see what the problem is. Could be fuel pressure or a plugged converter. Get the code and we can help you more.

Why are you flooring it on a cold start? Are you intentionally reving it to 6K. If so, you want to buy a new engine?

no no no please listen were not tryin to injure the engine. and its not exactly a cold start. we start it up let it sit..get it lukewarm and take it out..get about five miles out and stomp it and its take us up to 6k revs..then maybe later we'll do it again and get the same revs..then about 30mins in the ride..she'll spudder at 4100k revs and start to limit itselfs or feels like holding back. were not trying to blow the car up..just figure out symptoms for its problems.will try to get a code for you guys, and post as soon as i can ;)

by converter, do you mean the catalytic converter?

yes he meant the catalytic convertor and the code is needed to solve your problem. Did you replace the fuel filter?
