What Oil And Filter Do You Use? - 2008 pontiac torrent gxp

Hey there, I recently bought a 2008 Pontiac torrent gxp.
I am new to the world of Pontiacs and so far I'm fairly happy with my new ride!
Anyways, it's time for a oil change (well, been time for a while...) and I would love to know what people recommend and use on their own Pontiac torrents because I'm the kinda girl that likes to do my oil changes myself.

Also, I am currently getting only about 17-18 mpg, is this normal for everyone else?
Cause I think I remember reading a few people getting in the low 20s somewhere... Any advice on how I can get my mpg up?

Either original AC or Napa Gold. Do you check your tire air pressure on a regular basis ? The EPA combined number is 19mpg

Yeah, I check the tire pressure pretty regularly, plus the car tells me the psi of each tire and seems to be correct all the times I've checked.
