Instructions
1
Open your trunk, enter your car and make sure all of your doors are closed behind you.

2
Insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the "ACC" position.

3
Turn the key "Off" again, then back to "ACC," and open and close your driver's side door.

4
Wait for a chime to sound and press and hold the Lock and Unlock buttons on your keyless remote.

5
Wait for a chime after seven seconds, and continue holding the buttons for another seven seconds until another chime sounds. This will end the programming sequence and you can remove the key from the ignition.

One last thing you might try. I know some of the older GM's had a programming pigtail connector on the RKE receiver. I'm not sure exactly where it is on a Sunfire, but I would suggest looking on the driver's side of the trunk behind the trunk liner. If you see a black plastic box with a wiring harness connector plugged into it, and a two pin pigtail hanging free, you can short those two wires with a paperclip, and that will put it into program mode.
