I got gas in my Aztek yesterday, and it sputtered and eventually stalled. My Dad thought there might have been water in the fuel, so we treated it. It ran fine, but now its back to its odd behavior. It's flashing that I need more brake fluid, which I don't, a security sign, it starts without my key in it and it just dies. I have no idea what's going on with it...

Did you check for any blown fuses? How can you start the car without putting the key in the ignition? Once it starts, before it stalls, is your check engine light on?

I did check for blown fuses, and they all looked good. And I honestly have no idea how, but it did. A check engine light does come on, as well as a security light, it says I'm out of gas...I'm not, I have 3/4 of a tank of gas...a brake fluid light comes on, and "error" comes up in the place where it shows how many miles are on my car.

Sounds like a short circuit someplace. Had a few wires chafe together and shorted to each other, the car did all sorts of weird things until I corrected them.

It's based on the labor rate of the shop doing the work and the number of hours it takes them to find the problem.

Ive had a lot of people telling me that it could be the BCM...does this sound like a possibility?

BCM controls the instrument panel, so I'd say it's a possibility.
