Recently my traction control light came on. I've read the other threads but they also include the ABS light being on as well where as my ABS light is not on. I have tried braking on the ice and the ABS does still appear to work. Anyone have anything similar in the past?

From what I know they use the same wheel sensor to compute what the wheel is doing, I would suggest you go and get the van's computer scanned for codes, that will help u find out where the problem is or at least where to start. Some auto parts stores will do this service for free.

As its,
I would recommend that you have your dealer look into this for you. They may be in the best position to assist you in diagnosing this for you. Please keep me posted and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime.

I finally took my van to my local trustworthy shop and it turns out the issue with the van was actually the cruise control module. Its $300 for the part plus installation. I decided not to replace the part as the only thing affected was cruise control and traction control. Both of these I can live without and my mechanic said everything else checks out and all parts(bearings , brakes, steering parts) are all good.

My local salavge yard has a cruise control module for sale for $75.00. Anyone know if this is a difficult fix and where the unit is located as I would like to try and swap it out myself to save a little on coin.

As to having codes read for these type of problems most parts stores cant read the body computer.I have a "service stability system" light that has came on for a couple years and no one can read it.

My problem is fixed. Turns out there was an electircal short near the rear brake light which was pulling power away from the cruise control module causing it to disable the TC and cruise control. Further my brake lights were out on top of that. All is good now though.

Glad to hear all is well. And thanks for letting us know what the fix was. Who knows may help someone.
