Got this baby to do some work on and get it going

1983 Honda Sabre45 VF750

Hell yeah its a step up from my minibike. For a first bike it's a little intimidating but I'm sure practice makes perfect.

Just gotta do some engine work and customized it to be mine and I'll be all set.

Needs a tranny cover gasket and to have the new turn signals it came with installed. Black bullet style turn signals instead of the typical honda circles. And need a new side mirror old one is gone. And finally slap the covers on the guy took off. Easy as pie. :p

This cost me a tattoo machine and a cheap Chinese guitar. Thats a win in my book. The guy said he isn't mechanically inclined so he didn't want it to fool around with.

Makes a good winter project.

Anyhow heres a pic. Let me know what you guys think.

Need to creat a Pontiac Bike forum

Sweet Deal EC! I took the mega blinkers off my Honda too. I took off the rear fender underside and modified a brake light plate holder. Tidy Tail works too. Just park it in the living room!

Nice....If I park my bike in the living room my wife may just end up slapping the shit out of me lol. I think thats where she would draw the line.

The thing is heavy as shit but so far a fun project. I found out the plastic for the cluster is cracked so it wobbles around so I just took it apart and am trying to rig up something to hold it in place. Since it works 100% but I may end up trying to find a replacement one.

I got the crank case cover on. I ended up cleaning the surfaces and using RTV to seal it up. Gotta grab the fluid and then I can see if she turns over.

The kid had taken the reduction gear out so I put that back in before sealing it up.

I confirmed the starter worked and the engine turned. The clutch is a bit weird but since its hydraulic I am assuming its because there is no fluid in there.

I can't wait to fire it up and see if it runs and how well it does.

Haha Melsg5 yeah I bet a lot of us would use it lol.

I've used cereal boxes for gaskets when necessary.

lol true but not sure if I would like it. It sucks cause the one on the bike is actually pretty cool and done really well and works it just wobbles.

I was looking into something similar to the new volvo p1800 concept gauge cluster. Looks really nice and may bring the bike a bit more into the 21st century.

The rear turn signals I mounted and confirmed they worked. They look nice being a bullet design and since they weren't designed to go on this bike I ended up putting mounting holes in the rear plastic wheel guard next to the license plate and putting them there. They look good and look like they came on the bike. They were a very nice addition here is the ones I put on there.

Only mine are black.

Yeah I thought about using the cereal box but since rtv is gasket maker I figured it was ok. So far it don't leak. If it ends up not being good enough I will just use my roll of gasket material and make one.
