Looking at a 67 Firebird with 350 eng. Were they offered late in the year?

The last 6 digits of the VIN should be on the engine pad if it is an original engine and nobody is trying to fake it. Actually I'm wrong on that point the VIN on the block only started in late 67

Mels, I've learned that Pontiac didn't start stamping partial VINs on the engines until about 1968 at the earliest. They *may* have done a few late '67s, tho.

If it was a 326 car , there is only one original 326 from a 67 Firebird currently available here:

http://www.hoylesautosalvage.com/ ( needs rebuild )

ALL other avaliable 326's are from different year Tempests .

Not sure what you mean. All 1967 Firebirds have a 326 option, are you saying only one is available at the salvage?

you are correct about the VIN it didnt start until late 1967. So the OP will have to look for an engine code

Yes, there is only one available "salvage 326" from a 67 Firebird in the wrecking yards currently on file .

Getting real hard to find............ all 67 Birds are priced quite high. Nice example of a 326 car:

More Info for the OP.

Yes that '67 convertible looks sharp! Really, tho, $28,500 seems like a fair price, for how well it shows in the pictues.

Cheapest I found on the net for a nice 67 was 19K for a 1 bbl 230 OHC car.

And a couple of "basketcases" on craigslist for a under a grand .

I dont know why they are so high priced?

They are getting rare. That ups the price, as you know.
