Gas Cap

I got a po455 -evaporative emissions control leak (large leak). My son then remembered he had seen a "check gas cap" message so it made sense.

I removed the cap and put it back on, and I noticed something I had never noticed before - it doesn't just turn 3 clicks, I can keep turning it and it just keeps clicking.

Anyone else know if that's normal? I just don't remember because now that he's old enough, I hardly put gas in any more!

That's what I thought - but it still felt like it never really tightened...and I compared it to the one on my wife's Hyundai. It clicks once and won't turn any further. Anyway a new gas cap is cheap experiment - we put a new one on and seems to have done the trick.
