There is no recall issued for this problem because it is not a safety issue, but I feel that there should have been a TSB (technical service bulletin) issued for this problem. I own a 2006 torrent as well and was experiencing overheating and heat loss issues. I took my vehicle to a certified dealer to have this fixed, but 2 months later my car began to over heat again, which lead to a cracked head gasket. The problem I have with all of this is that A GM certified dealership should had been aware that there is a TSB issued for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning defects on their 2006 models. This TSB is still active which means the repairs(dealing with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) will be made at no cost to you. Now, holding GM accountable for the cracked head gasket is something I'm in the process of doing. The information I provided may, or may not apply to you, but if so please follow up with me (cicijewels@gmail.com).
