My girlfriend's 12 V accessory plug (cigarette plug) has stopped working. I know it needs to be replaced (tested, fuse checked) but I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the front floor console. It's an automatic '98 Sunfire GTS. The console has 1 cup holder (top right), handbrake (middle left), plastic pocket??? (just before the armrest), and an armrest. I cannot find any screws although I thought there should be 4 - 6. What am I missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We aren't smokers but she's lost without the GPS.

I found a screw under the cup holders rubber insert. How many more screws before I can remove the plastic portion which houses the 12 V accessory plug?

why are you trying to remove the console without first checking the fuse ?
