2002 Sunfire transmission

Hello, I am new to the forum as I just recently bought a 2002 Sunfire. My transmission just started to slip yesterday and much to my dismay there is no transmission dip stick. I have the passenger side tire off now after looking online for the location of the check plug and just simply cannot find it. Does anybody know the exact location of this? Any help would be awesome.. thank you
 
I currently have the drivers side tire off, I see the transmission mount and a bunch of bolts that hold the pan on but nothing that looks like a check plug
 
you dont see the speed sensor in the diagram?

I'm not a mechanic, but my transmission was slipping(?) also, for a long time. When I replaced the alternator, that went away.
It's possible that melsg5 can tell me I'm an idiot and it was just coincidence. ;)

I too have an 02 sunfire.
 
What was the problem with the car that made you replace the alternator?

The alternator quit charging, I had to jump my car 5 times to get it home. It died half way into a 40 mile trip, and it was whining before that.
