...350 in it.? I'm going to put a small block 350 in my firebird but I don't know if the shocks in the front end can hold the engine. It came factory with a 3.0 V6.Will the shocks hold a 350?

The shocks might, but the springs won't.
Shocks merely dampen the suspension from traveling up & down, they have nothing to do with weight carrying.
The springs are the part that actually supports the weight.

Get a set of front springs for a V-8 model of the same car, and just swap them out with your old ones.

Yeah, however you'll need diferent motor mounts,as far as bolting it to the tranny,it should match.

I'd be more concerned about the front coil springs(supportin the additional weight) then the shocks.

Plus, you'll need to do something w/ the computer. Check out the V-6 to V-8 swap in the link below.

Good luck!

whiiich transmission you going to use???the old one does fit a 350???you'll have to buy a turbo 350 tranny use a cutting torch to get it in the car and have a huge bump in the inside on the car and switch gears two feet off the floor of the car...hmmm???

How do you figure this? The TH350 case is no bigger than the Metric 200. We've done many 2nd gen transplants to SB350/TH350 including one with a 700r4 and had none of the issues you describe. The bodies between the V6 and V8 cars are no different. Biggest issue has been addressed, springs. It's all in the proper placement.

Violator is correct, There is no difference in tranny cases or bodies on the 2 cars. Just the internals of the tranny are different.
