Is it feasible to make a T-Top car?

A guy I know has the channels for the t-tops to a 77-79 trans am. He says it is fairly simply to cut the top and have the channels welded in. Has anyone done this? I know of people that have done the whole top from a donor car, but i hadn't heard of the channel option.

if you find it feasable...these have been properly stored for last 30 years are OEM and very nice I'd like $404 all of it
