So I've come across the literal "little old lady" car, helping someone clean out a house. It hasn't been moved in about 2 years and only has 16,000 miles on it. I poured a couple of gallons of fresh gas and let the battery charge up for a bit and it fired up on the first turn of the key. It's been offered to me at a reasonable price and I'm considering buying it. I have a lot of experience with import cars, but little to none with domestics. Just curious of any major problem areas I should know about before I buy it. Thanks for your input.

I would change the oil and filter before starting the car again. Check to see if the tires have flat spotted. Check all other fluid levels. Otherwise nothing specifically comes to mind to look for at such a low mileage.

Thanks for the info. I plan to change all the fluids out, get a new battery and tires - not comfortable with 10 year old tires on the highway. Not sure what I'll do after that except maybe an upgrade to the audio system and maybe something to the suspension to help firm up the handling.
