Howdy folks, I'm a new member here (just signed up a minute ago). I came by to ask a motor question, but thought this would be a great place to ask this question as well.

My headlight motors will not go up. They go down perfectly fine with no hesitation, but refuse to go up. All wiring (what's left anyway, rednecks butchered this poor bird) appears to be ok, so I'm assuming it's the relays. Both headlamps aren't working, which leads me to believe it's (possibly?) the isolation relay. I'd rather just replace all three and be done with it. So my question is: Do you folks know a good place to get replacement actuator and isolation relays? I've been looking around, but I figured I'd see if you folks knew where I could grab them.

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome. have your tried http://www.ecklersfirebird.com/
If they do not have the parts you need listed, give them a call they may be able to help you source the parts. the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly

BTW just because the lights go down and not up does not mean the there is anything wrong with the electronics, these motors are prone to stripping out the plastic gears
So its worth double checking power and ground at the motors before going crazy looking for hard to find parts.

Thanks for the reply EAOutlaw!

One of the problems could definitely be the gears. The problem is we have already tested power from the switch to the relays, and relays to the motors. The relays are definitely burned out. Now, I'm not sure if it's just the Isolation relay, or the actuator relays, since for whatever reason my dad opted to check power up to the isolation relay, and then down at the actuator relays, but I definitely have relays cooked. I'd rather just get them all replaced anyway, I know they don't last as long as they should. The relay to my fog lamps is bad as well (getting the replacement over lunch), so I'm just going to replace them all without taking the chance.

I never checked out Eckler's for relays, but I have for other things. I should have went there first. Thanks for the advise!
