It's a manual car and I can't seem to twist it off
Does it have a pin or something

many modern shift knobs are pressed on and not meant to be changed without replacing the entire shifter assembly. to know for sure call your local GM parts dealer and ask if they sell a replacement shift knob for your car without buying the entire shifter. or buy a factory service manual and look up the procedures on removing it.

if this is the case and you just want to replace the knob to a aftermarket knob you will have to cut the old one off and use one that has a set screw to hold it in place.

I am guessing you need to remove it to work on something if this is the case inform us on what your trying to do and perhaps we can help.

did you pull the leather boot down and look towards the front? You should see what looks like a metal staple, remove it and the knob comes off

Ia am pretty sure the clip you are referring to is for GM cars with Automatic transmissions.

Every search I did for the OP came up with replacement shift knobs that get installed with the set screw, there is none available with threaded knobs for this car.

This means to me he has to press off the old knob or cut off the old knob off. if he wants to replace it.

If he is just trying to remove the knob then the boot to remove the center console for other work, the knob boot and shifter comes off as once unit.

I may be wrong, I am going by very old memories LOL. this is why I suggested for the OP to refer to a factory service manual.
