Hi all, first post.
My Dad recently bought this '63 326
He's loving it and slowing working through it's issues.
One of which is the blinker trigger cams/bits in the column.
I'm not there or really sure what he means but he asked me to start asking around.
Any input on this? I won't get down to see the car until early April but if possible I'd like to go with some parts and help him fix it.
I'll ask him for some pictures of the parts in question.
here's a couple of general pics to get us started.:)

welcome to the forum incredibly good condition car! Not clear on your question, what parts or picture of parts is he looking for?

some sort of plastic cams/lobes in the column that trigger's the blinkers? I'm waiting on him for some pictures, or maybe he'll join up too!

These cams normally come with the switch that is mounted in the column.
I am guessing his turning signals work they just do not go off once turned.

First make sure what part he needs for sure, then we will help you find them.

Nice car.

He sent these pics. I'm still lost. But will get more info.

He's telling me the switch in the hub is bad (as per his mechanic).
I'll send him this link.

He bought this:

Didn't fit.

He did some research and asked around and apparently a '63 Lemans like his is a bit of an odd duck parts wise.
Something about the parts books not even listing it.
One bit of advise was to swap out the whole column to a '64.

It looks like the plastic knobby ends busted off the the part above.
He's hoping to get the part and ship it up to me and I will attempt a repair, including a possibly modeling and 3-D print of the broken parts. This seems the best option to me.

Anyone run into issues with parts for this sweetie?
I too suffer from auto lust. My taste gravitates towards little two seaters (usually foreign) so I'm pretty familiar with rebuilds and fabrication due to parts availability and cost. I say we fix that puppy up.

Great looking car! And you are correct the 61-63 Tempest/Lemans is a very different car from the 64-72 versions. Unfortunatly most parts are only available uses or NOS. There is a very active forum specific to 61-63 cars here

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/forums/index.php

and the POCI (Pontiac Oakland Club International) has a Little Indians chapter that is also devoted to those cars. I would suggest you check with the experts. Your fathers car has the V-8 326 (really a 331 for 1963 only Long story on that) so parts will be easier to find for the engine than if it had the 195 slant 4 that was 1/2 a 389 V-8 those are even harder to find parts for. Good Luck with our search.
