Ok so this is my first post here so hello.

Now on to business. My wife has a 2000 sunfire and the blower motor would work only on high and for short periods of time. I replaced the resister and it worked good for about 30 minutes. She was on her way to work and called to tell me it was turning on and off like it was thermostat controlled. What could the problem be and how the heck do i fix it? If she dont have heat this winter its gonna be cold for her AND me. LOL

start off by rechecking the new resistor after that check the motor and switch.

See if it burnt out for some reason. Didnt your old one have a burnt out/broken wire?

Oh yeah! The old one's contacts were black and looked rusted without the rust color, if that makes any sense at all, lol. So youre saying I should pull it out and look at the new one?

well she had to go in to work today. so when she gets home Ill check the resister again and see whats up. from what Ive read if the motor works at all its fine. I put the new resister in and the motor took off like a raped ape. It was working good till she was on her way to work that day she called to say it was going on and off. Im betting on the resister, 1) since its electronic and 2) cause its the most PITA part to get to.

Same thing happened to my 99. I ended up replacing the motor and resistor. Had a sore neck for two days. LOL

Ok so heres a little update. She came home and said it was acting up. I took a small hammer and wacked the motor and it started blowing hard. We went for a drive and it didnt act up one single time. Maybe there was just a piece of gunk in there and I knocked it loose. None the less I will replace thge motor on next pay.

Hi gman here. First time, could you tell me where resistor is located and easy way to get at it wife has 99 works only on high. Thanks
