Hello all
I have an 01 Bonneville SE and after I start my car all my lights, interior, exterior and dash lights flash very fast. Several times a second. I am thinking it is a voltage regulator but alternator is only 5 months old. This has been going on for about a month now. Any ideas?

would start with checking battery connections both at the battery and the ground and starter. Beyond that the BCM, body control monitor, would have to be checked.

I wouldput a Voltmeter on the battery when the engine is running, if the Voltageis spiking and not a steady 13 to 14.5 volts it is the Voltage regulator and the altinator will need to be replaced again.
I stopped buying Altinators from the localname brand parts stores years ago for simalure reasons. A Rebuilt part used to mean that the complete unit was overhauled, bearings, diode plate, voltage regulator ect.... But now they seem to only "repair" what is actually broken on a part. Say 1 of the bearings were bad, so they replace the bearings, and clean and paint the part. So you get a pretty Altinator with 1 or 2 new parts, and the voltage regulatormay have 150,000 miles on it. But it comeswith a "life time Warrenty" so you can replace it for free every 6 months or so.
So do not be suprized if the Altinator is the issue.
